The work on Haven at South Atlanta continues! Now, we are officially "dried-in,” which means that the vast majority of the exterior is finished and work on the interior of these homes is speeding up. Drywall is going up, and these mixed-income apartments are starting to look like places where people will live, work, and love.
We are thrilled! Haven is the largest housing development project in South Atlanta right now, and it's one that will boost housing access for neighbors across the income spectrum. The complex will feature 84 rental homes. Of the 84 units, 71 will be available to families at 50-60% of Area Median Income. The additional 13 units will be available at market rents. The Garden-Style apartments will feature one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units for neighbors. We are so grateful to our partners, including Pennrose and Capstone Building Corporation, for making this vision a reality.
The work of building an equitable, mixed-income community takes dedication and perseverance, and seeing Haven come to life is the culmination of a long journey that started back in 2018. It took time to build the relationships with partners like Pennrose, listen to neighbors, and lay the plans that set an initiative like this one up for success. Now, we are getting closer to making stable housing more accessible and equitable in Historic South Atlanta.
